Procedural skincare products are used before, during and immediately after a treatment session. Generally used to improve the condition of the skin for optimal work, to promote better healing, reduce redness and make the client more comfortable. Usually used in-clinic but sometimes provided to the client in small quantities to use at home.
Anaesthetic products used in SMP are generally lidocaine-based and are used to make the client more comfortable during the procedure. Some are dedicated numbing products, although many also contain vasoconstrictors like epinephrine to provide anti-redness properties too.
These products contain vasoconstrictor agents like epinephrine to reduce the redness of the clients scalp immediately post-procedure. They often contain numbing agents too, like lidocaine. The benefit is temporary, but taking redness out of the skin facilitates much better treatment photos. Anti-redness products enable your client to see a bettter representation of what their healed result will look like, and helps them feel less self-conscious on their journey home.
These use-at-home products are for use after the procedure is complete and fully healed. They include moisturizers, sun protection products and anti-shine mattifiers for optimal long term maintenance.
